Leadership makes a difference, perhaps ‘the’ difference. It is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust, and taking effective action to realise your own leadership potential. Our leadership definition is also defined as enabling a group to engage together in the process of developing, sharing and moving into vision, and then living it out.

10  simple and essential guidelines to improve your leadership

  • Take care of yourself, work on improving your health and fulfill your personal needs
  • Develop strong values and show integrity at all times
  • Think global, appreciate differences and accept diversity
  • Develop a clear vision for yourself and for your team
  • Think win/win, trust your partners and team
  • Communicate the goals clearly and delegate fully
  • Listen, listen, listen. Ask questions and empower your team
  • Be consistant and lead by example
  • Encourage growth, develop leaders, reward successes
  • Commit to a high level of learning, read and seek advice
